Being able to measure as accurately as possible has through history become increasingly important in the natural sciences. In the 19th century, the scientific revolution takes place and new fields of science and methods of measurement is developed that lay the foundation for modern measurement technology. But how is it going to happen in the 19th century? In what way has this measuring revolution influenced social development and what role had Sweden and, in particular, Uppsala University in this development?
