Magnetism - Spintronics and dynamics
Condensed matter properties that relate to the intrinsic spin of electrons have become increasingly more studied in the last few decades. This can be connected to the success of magnetoresistance effects that resulted in significant technological advances and due to novel spin phenomena that show potential for future applications. At the division of Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics, we study the fundamental properties of magnetic materials using mainly photon and transport based methods. The aim is to develop the understanding of the dynamic magnetic properties, electronic structure, and spin transport in novel materials.
